Who we are

Nic McClure is the founder of The Silent Seat, a space for stillness, presence, and gentle witnessing. She holds an Advanced Certificate in Meditation and Mindfulness from ACMM, with a specialised focus on supporting pain, grief, and dying, and is also certified in Pranayama and Meditation through Yoga Alliance's YACEP program.

Nic is a certified Grief Educator, having studied with renowned grief expert David Kessler. Her work is grounded in the belief that grief does not need fixing, only space, companionship, and compassion. Through peer-to-peer support, meditation, and contemplative practices, she offers a quiet place for others to sit with what hurts and feel held in their sorrow.

Drawing on her own lived experience shaped by the profound losses of her mother, father, and beloved pet dogs Nic has a deep understanding of love, presence, and the sacredness of holding space for each person’s unique journey through sorrow. She also understands how isolating grief can feel, both for those experiencing it and for those who want to offer support but fear saying the wrong thing.
